Telepermit application checklist for ISDN Products

Product.............................................................

Colour Photographs of Equipment. .......................................

Photographs shall show the following details:
(a) External views of product showing details of interface connectors, front panel layout and general view.

(b) Internal views including, general views, close-ups both sides of line interface circuitry (or daughter boards containing interface circuitry).

Please note that black and white photocopies of photographs are not acceptable.

Electrical Safety Test Report

2a Line Isolation - EN41003 etc .......................................

2b Power supply - AS/NZS3260 or EN60950 etc .......................................

Certificates of Compliance or CB certificates are acceptable subject to the following conditions:

(a) It must be clear that the certificate covers the electrical safety requirements for both the power supply and line isolation.

(b) It must be clear the certificate is relevant to the product being Telepermitted- i.e. if the tests were performed on a product which has subsequently been rebranded, a statement from the original manufacturer shall be supplied stating the equivalence of the original and rebranded products.

3. ISDN Test Reports

3a Layer 1 Certificate of Compliance or test report to CTR3/4 .......................................

3b Layer 2 Certificate of Compliance or test report to CTR3/4 .......................................

3c Layer 3 Certificate of Compliance or test report to CTR3/4 plus supplementary requirements of Newsletter 125 .......................................

4. Analogue interface Test Report (if applicable) .......................................

This requirement is applicable for all Terminal Adapters which derive Analogue POTS ports. The requirements are essentially the same as the extension port requirements for a PABX (PTC 108/PTC109). A Specification covering these requirements specifically is currently being prepared. Testing is currently performed by the Telecom Laboratories at the same time as Layer 3 testing.

5. Other Interfaces/functions relevant to Telepermitting .......................................

Where the equipment contains other features or interfaces which impact on the Telecom network, these shall be listed and applicable Test Reports supplied.

Examples are modems e.g. ISDN telephone, V.90 modems behind PR ISDN, H.323 gateway to IP phones etc. Such functions would normally be tested by Telecom along with Layer 3 Testing. There are two main functional areas which signify a need for testing, firstly where the equipment transmits on its B channel(s) a digital representation of an analogue signal which may terminate on a standard PTSN line e.g. modem, fax or voice, and secondly the mapping of the functional signaling requirements on to the appropriate D channel messages. If not otherwise specifically specified in PTC Specifications, the testing requirements would be adapted from the relevant part of other existing PTC Specifications such as PTC 200.
