Mobile Device Certification Requirements

 

WCDMA Products

An overview of entry requirements into the Telecom New Zealand WCDMA device certification process are listed below. A comprehensive list of requirements is supplied in the WCDMA information pack once the Application form and Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement form are completed.

  • Support WCDMA 850 MHz band (mandatory),
    2100 MHz band (recommended)
    and GSM 900/1800 MHz bands (for fall back emergency calling, (applicable for voice products only))
  • WLAN compliance and test report as per ETSI EN 300 328-2
  • SAR compliance certificate and test report as per ETSI EN 50361.
  • Power supply compliance certificate (Electrical Safety and Electromagentic Compatibility) IEC 60950 or AS/NZS 60950.
  • WCDMA RF compliance certificate and test report as per 3GPP TS 34.121.
  • A specified number or devices and appropriate test/support tools.
  • GSM RF compliance certificate and test report as per 3GPP TS 51.010-1
  • Evidence of protocol compliance and interoperability to various industry standards such as GCF, PTCRB, Bluetooth, Jave etc.

 

CDMA Products

An overview of entry requirements into the Telecom New Zealand CDMA device certification process are listed below. A comprehensive list of requirements is supplied in the CDMA information pack once the Application form and Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement form are completed.

  • Support CDMA 850 Mhz mandatory, Dual Band 850/1900 Mhz preferred.
  • Power supply compliance certificate (Electrical Safety and Electromagentic Compatibility) IEC 60950 or AS/NZS 60950.
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility compliant with the Radiocommunications Regulations 2001 and any relevant Notices issued by the Ministry of Economic Development, with respect to EMC standards.
  • A specified number or devices and appropriate test/support tools.
  • RF Emissions shall comply with all international radio regulations and relevant standards.
  • Evidence of independent qualified test reports and certificates showing compliance with all applicable FCC standards.
  • Specific Absorption Rate must comply with the New Zealand Standard NZS2772.
